Wildlife Champions - Conservation Workshop

Looking for a fun, hands-on activity that helps children connect with nature?

Join us for our FREE Children’s Conservation Programme — a creative and inspiring session designed to help young people discover how they can support wildlife right from their own garden, patio or balcony. And if they don’t have outdoor space? We’ll show them how nearby parks and open spaces can become their wildlife haven too.

During this interactive 30–40 minute session, children will learn how to:
Build bird boxes for garden birds and owls.
Create bug hotels
Make pollinator lagoons and beetle buckets
Construct hedgehog houses

We’ll demonstrate how all of these can be made using recycled or scrap materials — and explain exactly where to find what they need.
Children will also discover which flowers and shrubs to plant to encourage birds, bees and other wonderful wildlife.

There will be real garden bird boxes, owl boxes and hedgehog houses on display so children can see sizes, materials and designs up close. Plus, they’ll receive plans and visual guides to take home — everything they need to get started on their own conservation project.

Suitable for ages 7–14.
Small group session (maximum 10 children)
Free to attend – booking advised due to limited space in the Learning Cabin
