On 7th February 2007 (although difficult to believe now was 15 years ago) I created my tea room. Originally called the 'Quarry Coffee Shop'  I started with just a kettle, six mugs and some pre-made muffins!  I served instant coffee to tenants and to a few dog walkers.  In the summer of 2009  (wanting to improve the coffee shop) I employed Denise and Alan from Cornish's Coffee House, Weston Heritage Centre, Wadham Street. We then started to sell lunches and homemade cakes which kickstarted our journey to where we are now.

After the sad passing of a tenant (Andy Thorne) a Rowan tree was planted in his memory, this is situated at the edge of my outside seating area. Therefore I decided to change the name from Quarry Coffee Shop to Rowan Tree Tea Room.

I have had many staff over the past 15 years to whom I am very grateful and especially Rebecca whose homemade cakes have customers returning time and time again.

My thanks also goes to my current staff who have seen me through the difficult times of COVID.  I feel extremely privileged to have a strong, loyal customer base who will keep us going for the years to come.
